Few expats have done more to bring a smile to Latvian faces than Bernard Larane. Since the wild 1990's, this Frenchman's Cadets de Gascogne cafes have served up croissants,
baguettes and melt-in-your-mouth pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and excellent coffee for a reasonable price to grateful citizens and travelers alike.
There are half a dozen Cadets in central Riga today, but why not start your morning in the original one near Old Riga, with lovely views of Bastejkalns Park? The cafes are great places to chill
for lunch, afternoon tea or an evening drink.
