Jūrmala is Latvia’s most famous seaside town, located just 20 minutes from Riga on the Baltic Sea. This private Jūrmala walking tour from Riga is an excellent way to experience Latvia’s seaside and explore the highlights of the historic resort..
Tour duration: About 2 hours, moderate difficulty.
Cost: 110 euros per group with up to 4 persons, 140 euros for 5-20 persons (maximum 20 walking only, 4 persons with transport). Food and drinks are not included.
Meeting point: In front of Hotel Jūrmala Spa on Jomas iela, or by arrangement at your hotel in Jūrmala (Majori or Dzintari only). I can also pick you up and return you to your hotel in Riga for an additional 20 euros.
End point: Back on Jomas iela, or your hotel by arrangement.

A Tour from Riga to Sand, Sea and Soul
Jūrmala literally means "the seaside" in Latvian, and its long sandy beaches, historic wooden villas and relaxing pine forests have been drawing visitors from near and far for two centuries.
On our guided walking tour of Jūrmala, we'll see timber architecture, iconic buildings like Dzintari concert hall, as well as brutal but intriguing Soviet-era structures.
Strolling on the beach, I'll tell you stories about traditional fishermen, historic bathing customs, as well as shipwrecks in the sea beyond the shore. And we'll meet some of the characters who have found Jūrmala to their liking, from Latvian poets to press barons to Communist Party bosses.
If you like we can enjoy coffee or lunch in a cosy cafe in central Jūrmala.

"My daughter and I really enjoyed our Jurmala day tour and learned much about Latvian history and culture. It was very easy to book and the day was expertly paced. We started at the Open Air Fishing Museum which was interesting and beautiful, and took a stroll through the woods onto the beach.
